Shrewsbury

This sculpture, Darwinian theme, has been sited in a manner allowing any viewing to be over the Severn at at least fifty feet elevation. Possibly the patrons of the Severn Theatre can get a reasonable view too!

Shrewsbury

A very expensive sculpture that can only be appreciated from at least fifty feet above the River!

Looking upstream on the Severn flowing next to Smithfield Road-with jolly good cloud reflections!

Shrewsbury Library

Originally 'The Free School' . King Edward VI 1552 directed that there should be one Grammar School in Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury School

Originally the 'Orphan School' A house for the reception of foundlings from the Foundling Hospital at London, was first opened in Dog Lane in the year 1759 until this large and pleasant building was erected on the bank of the Severn, opposite the Quarry. Begun in 1760 and finished in five years and was used until the London Hospital stopped sending any more children.
The building cost at that time  £12,000.00 to erect.

Shrewsbury

This photograph is especially for Paul Hutchinson of Much Wenlock who is a great admirer and also an aspiring photographer whom I believe is currently looking out for a local photographic course to enroll on.
